Why join DoITT? - A government agency run like a Fortune 500 company - 1000+ employees with a growth rate of 200%+ in the last 2+ years and growing - Outstanding benefits - State-of-the-art technologies - An opportunity to contribute to the success of enterprise-wide projects - Real potential for professional growth and advancement DoITT Divisions: - 311 Citizen Service Center - NYC Media Group - Enterprise Technology Development - E-911 - Geographic Information Systems - Telecom Services - Information Utility Title: Classification Analyst - JVN #1566CW Re-Issue Salary Range: $45,000 - $60,000 DOE plus Excellent Comprehensive Benefits package Work Location: New York, NY (Downtown) JOB DESCRIPTION: (New York City Residency required within 90 days of appointment) Responsibilities will include: - Write and maintain over two-hundred agency Managerial Position Descriptions (MPD's); - Create and analyze CHRMS reports to determine appropriate reporting structures and civil service titles for all managers; - Create and maintain a tracking and filing system for all MPD's; - Track and follow up with DCAS regarding status of MPD submissions and allocations; - Review sub-managerial job descriptions to determine appropriate civil service titles; - Oversee all aspects of civil service administration; request certified lists as needed; - Analyze certified civil service lists and make recommendations regarding civil service appointments; arrange hiring pools with managers; set-up and conduct civil service interviews; prepare list dispositions and enter dispositions into PRISE; prepare and mail disposition letters to eligibles; update civil service list status reports; - May perform special projects and related work as required.

PREFERRED SKILLS: Successful candidate should possess the following: - Excellent written and verbal communication skills; - Experience with and knowledge of NYC personnel policies and procedures associated with the responsibilities described above is a plus; - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Access; - Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical skills; - The ability to exercise independent judgment and manage multiple priorities.

CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. A Master's Degree from an accredited college in economics, finance, accounting, business or public administration, human resources management, management science, operations research, organizational behavior, industrial psychology, statistics, personnel administration, labor relations, psychology, sociology, human resources development, political science, or a closely related field and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience working with the budget of a large public or private concern in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, or fiscal or economic research; or in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation; or in personnel or public administration, recruitment, position classification, personnel relations, employee benefits, staff development, employment program planning/administration, labor market research, economic planning, social services program planning/evaluation, fiscal management, or in a related area.

2. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college and three years of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the areas described in '1' above.
