We invite you to work for our company as we are seeking qualified individuals to fill the following: Position: Software Director Location: San Jose, CA Software Director.

The Software Director will be the leader for a 20+-person software development team.

Will drive the development of embedded software releases for telecom test applications.

Will direct software development for Sunrise MTT, STT, HTT, and legacy platforms.

Will be a strong participant in the Engineering management team for the Telecom Products Division and help to drive the entire Engineering organization.

Will lead the software engineering team towards more multi-site, multi-functional team building.

Will work closely with product marketing to define the product roadmap and product releases.

Will coach and mentor the managers that are direct reports and will in general attend to the day-to-day management of the staff.

The key objectives for this position include: To accomplish within 1 month: * Become familiar with Sunrise Telecom products and projects, and the software engineering staff.

* Become familiar with Sunrise and other members of the Engineering management team, and in particular the product development process (ie software methodologies).

*Assume responsibility for and drive the development of ongoing STT, MTT, and HTT software development projects.

To accomplish within 3 month: * Drive the development and release of patches, service packs, and special customer builds as required.

* Assess staff and identify areas for developing, improving and realigning resources as needed.

* Select and instantiate common tool set for software configuration management and defect tracking.

*Assist VP of Engineering in preparing department budget for 2007.

* Deliver HTT, STT Metro, and STT module releases with high quality and the agreed-upon feature set; plan and begin execution of subsequent releases.

* Continue to drive patches, service packs, and special customer builds as required.

To accomplish within 6 month: * Begin to establish good working relationship with SRC. * At this point the selected person should be recognized within the team as the leader, providing direction and coaching for subordinate managers as well as the team as a whole.

* Develop plan to reduce number of operating systems supported to no more than two. * Perform staff performance reviews and salary administration.

* Continue to drive execution on product releases.

* Continue to drive patches, service packs, and special customer builds as required.

* Continue to enhance working relationship with SRC. To accomplish within 1 year: * Identify and initiate actions to improve product quality and reduce cycle time.

* Develop plan to drive more software reuse throughout the organization.

* Establish working relationship with counterparts in SRB and SRIt.

*Continue to drive execution on product releases.

* Continue to drive patches, service packs, and special customer builds as required.

BSEE or BSCS; MS preferred.

10+ years experience in product development, including at least 5 years in management role.
