Senior Mechanical Engineer: Confidential Solar Company
Rapidly growing Thin Film Solar Company located in Silicon Valley whose objective is to produce solar cells at a lower cost with higher efficiencies than solutions currently available in the market today.
Successful candidates will have demonstrated ability to perform in a fast paced environment.
Position Responsibilities: Design, development and improvement of reliable high volume manufacturing systems that includes but not limited to: Continuous improvement of Thin Film Coating Systems performance (uptime, green to green and yield) to production goals by engineering solutions for existing equipment.
Develop upgrade plans and execute exchanges on factory equipment to effect performance improvements.
Analysis of failures that affect overall equipment effectiveness and implement design changes to address failure pareto issues.
Support new product development effort by communicating issues that need to be addressed.
Perform engineering mechanical and thermal analysis to support design solutions, including root cause analysis of complex problems Design and develop system layouts and schematics Create and release equipment specifications Determine, establish and adhere to company standards Key Contributor to projects holding to strict and highly competitive schedules.
Educational/Experience Requirements: BS in Mechanical Engineering (Advanced degree preferred) 5+ years experience in equipment design and development(preferably of high volume manufacturing equipment) Photovoltaic panel manufacturing experience a plus Skill Requirements: Demonstrates exceptional skills in mechanical and thermal analysis, complex system design, communication, product technology, project management and team work.
Ability and willingness to work hands-on Ability to influence others with ideas using supportive data Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles Able to work in an extremely high paced and aggressive environment Exceptional problem solving and root cause analysis skills Ability and willingness to keep to a schedule and do what it takes to satisfy a deadline Proficient in Solid Works Modeling, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, MS Project, MS Word, and Excel
