Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: R&D Technical Services
This is a contract job for an indefinite length of time.
Job description:
BSME.
MSME, a plus.
5-7 yrs. minimum broad based mechanical engineering experience in one or more of the following markets: o Consumer o Computing o Networking o Biotechnology or Medical Devices.
Hands-on technical project management of at least 3 full product development cycles involving high volume tooled products.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Background working in smaller companies, a plus.
Working knowledge of design using injection molded plastics and/or sheet metal.
Pro/E Wildfire or SolidWorks.
Proven success working with clients, vendors and consultants.
Hands-on performance in shop/lab work.
Expertise in project budgeting, scheduling and management.
ME Analysis (on the job): o Strength of materials.
o Heat transfer.
o Tolerance analysis.
o FEA. o Design for manufacturability (high/low volume).
YOU WILL:
Brainstorm, define and develop product solutions for client requirements.
Develop and manage project schedules.
Provide client support and management as required.
Create detailed designs and documentation to meet program objectives.
Identify and perform engineering analyses.
Test and evaluate prototypes, tooling, and first articles.
Produce project and technical reports.
Select and manage suppliers for prototyping, tooling and production.
Manage project activities and personnel.
