Senior Hardware Engineer
Senior Hardware Engineer Senior Hardware Engineer Responsibility: Overall responsibility for developing customer Development Kit (DVK) based on R&D DVK and developing form factor Reference Development Kit (RDK) for a variety of applications.
Specific responsibilities include: - Develop schematics DVK and RDK - Own BOM for customer for DVK and RDK - Assist and review BOARD layout of DVK and RDK - Part ordering and inventory process - Develop functional and performance test plan for DVK and RDK - Create customer documentation kit incl.
Quick reference Guide, user guide, schematics, BOM - Create application notes for using alternate parts - Deliver DVK and RDK to customer and keep status of DVK and RDK at our customer - Create a plan for return/swapping and maintenance process for DVK and RDK deliverables at our customer, test and repair DVK and RDK according to plan - Provide HW support to customer designs based on DVK and RDK - Develop test SW for DVK and RDK board functionality testing -Ability to work with PCB Designers and test after HW comes back -This is a lead position over one other Hardware Designer and a PCB Designer.
-The customer interface side of the job is supported by a Technical Writer Requirements: - MSEE in Electrical engineering - 5+ year experience in Hardware Engineering AND Board Design - Development experience of consumer products bringing from first schematic to ramp up - Program/project management experience - Experience in working with external vendor together (vendor for PCB manufacturing, population, part deliveries) -Have designed mass produced products that have worked and have made it to market.
-Experience with Low Cost Designs and Fixed Parts Trade Off -Some travel required, 10% or so -RF and Radio design experience required -Experience with either or all of: 802.
11, Bluetooth, and or cell phone technology -Must have the ability to take a board design from schematic to completion
