PROCESS CONTROL COORDINATOR: American Yeast Corp.
Process Control Coordinator Department: Laboratory Reports to: QA/QC Manager FLSA Status: Exempt Purpose: Serve as the primary technical liaison and quality assurance resource in order to continuously improve processes to maximize production output/yield and minimize production costs.
Essential Functions: ‚ Identify and facilitate improvements in packaging and processing operations to maximize production output/yield and minimize production costs.
‚ Review and analyze laboratory data of product samples against corporate quality specifications to identify and resolve non-conformance.
‚ Monitor Flame Ionization Detection (FID) system to ensure regulatory compliance.
Prepare and submit the required reports on a monthly basis.
Compile and complete semi-annual regulatory reports.
‚ Assist with the development and implementation of quality systems, ie ISO, GMP, HACCP, AIB. ‚ Prepare and maintain the weekly Key Performance Indicators report.
Identify and correct abnormal shifts in performance indicators.
€€ Other Functions: ‚ Provide direct supervision to plant personnel when assigned rotating "call" duty.
Requirements: ‚ Bachelors degree in a related discipline required.
An engineering degree with emphasis in process control helpful.
‚ A minimum of two years yeast manufacturing experience, or production management experience with another product of limited shelf-life.
€€ Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: ‚ Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and troubleshoot processes and equipment.
‚ Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal customers.
‚ Strong organizational skills for the performance of a variety of complex administrative duties.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
‚ Knowledge of quality improvement systems and regulations regarding air pollution emissions.
‚ Knowledge of principles of microbiology, fermentation and biochemical engineering.
‚ Accuracy and attention to detail; logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
‚ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
‚ Must be able to operate standard office equipment, including telephone, calculator, computer, printer, typewriter, fax, and copier.
€€ Environmental Requirements: ‚ Work is typically conducted within the manufacturing environment, permeated by the aroma of yeast.
‚ Hearing protection is required.
‚ Significant temperature variances exist based on the department.
