PCB DESIGN ENGINEER
Title: PCB DESIGN ENGINEER Location: SANTA CLARA Synaptics Inc is looking for a PCB Designer.
This person is responsible for the design and layout of wide variety of printed circuit boards for all Synaptics products according to customer's schedule, specifically hew product development.
The designer will work directly with Project Managers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Test Engineers in developing these new products.
He or she will also perform capacitive simulation using internal tools.
Experience working with small products and a keen attention to detail would be optimal.
The designer has to be able to adhere to guidelines with respect to form and function that includes updating and maintaining the Synaptics standard Parts and Decal Libraries.
This position will also include working with other design engineer to develop and implement automated processes and tools in order to make future design work more efficient and better quality.
This position will report to the PCB Design Engineer Manager in Santa Clara.
Primary customers are Product Development Team and Project Managers.
Additional customers are R&D Testing Group.
The PCB designer will work closely with Program Managers, Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, contract manufacturers, and PCB vendors.
The successful candidate will have: Experience using Power PCB for PCB layout design and DxDesigner for schematic capture.
PCB Design experience must be the main focus of your career; additional experience in DFM Autocad, or IC Layout would be considered an enhancement only.
A broad understanding encompassing electrical engineering, physics, mechanics, materials, software and computer systems.
Detailed knowledge of circuit design, layout, routing, knowledge of timing constraints, cross talk with a basic understanding of the electrical properties behind each of them.
Understand PCB fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes.
Be able to effectively interface with other technical and non-technical teams from different disciplines.
Ability to work efficiently as a part of team as well as independently.
- Good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
A BS or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing.
4~7 years of relevant experience.
- Be willing to travel internationally on an occasional basis (1 or 2 times a year).
- Detailed knowledge of circuit board design, layout, routing and knowledge of timing constraints, cross talk, with a base understanding of the electrical properties behind each.
- Understand PCB fabrication and assembly manufacturing processes.
