Oracle DBA Engineer: OSI Engineering
Oracle DBASeeking a Oracle DBA for cutting-edge Cloud Computer Services for consumer products in Palo Alto, CA. Responsible for development DBA You will work very closely with the developers and understand the data model in addition to standard DB infrastructure maintenance.
This position will be responsible for administration and maintenance of all production database servers and provide development support and guidance in accordance with Client DBA best practices and standards.
This positions will require much more at development level.
Oracle DBA must have experience working with developers, and have some exposure or experience with database architecting.
Be able to work sit with developers and look at their database requirements.
Will be able to make suggestions, tune for performance, trying to avoid pitfalls, etc. before the release.
This position is not just at the DBA level in term s of files and back-ups but understanding of the entire DB and being able to work with the developers.
Responsibilities: Administration and maintenance of all ORACLE servers.
Trouble shooting specific ORACLE BUGS and errors Supporting all development efforts by various development groups Working with developers, including database architecting.
On call support during off hours and weekends.
Requirements: Expertise in Oracle versions 10g and 11g.
Expertise in Oracle 9i also desired but not required.
Experience with multi-node RAC systems on Linux platforms.
Expertise of Data Guard (physical and logical) Ability to write tuned SQL, including PL/SQL stored procedures and packages Ability to code shell and perl scripts Ability to support both large and small systems (several GB to 5TB) Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving various site performance issues and tuning.
Understanding and basic administration of NT and windows platforms Ability to provide 24x7 support Ability to design and implement Disaster recovery.
