Engineering Lab Technician
Required Knowledge & Experience: Problem solving, communication, personal effectiveness, team support and organizational skills necessary.
Requires basic knowledge of communication software necessary to perform job function such as Word, Excel and e-mail tools.
Candidates need to be mechanically inclined with reasoning skills to troubleshoot Lab euipment.
Job Specific Knowledge & Experience: Basic knowledge or willingness to learn PCB Layout tools.
AS level degree in electronics technology or equivalent and 1-2 years directly related experience; or - BSEET level degree and 0-1 year directly related experience.
Responsibilities: Works from written procedures and schematics, diagrams, written and/or verbal descriptions, and layouts to perform testing, organizing and troubleshooting functions.
Performs moderately complex mechanical, soldering, and repair tasks.
Provides input to Lab Manager and Design Engineers; may write simple technical reports and test procedures.
A scheduled part of the time will be dedicated to organizing and the Engineering Lab and keeping it organized.
Orders equipment and tools necessary for the engineering Lab on a regular Basis and follows up with placed orders.
Assists in determining methods or actions to run the engineering lab in order.
Assists in check-in and check-out of test equipment as well as setting up and tearing down engineering test set-ups as directed by Design Engineers.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Candidate will be assigned to work in a lab environment performing above activities.
