Job Summary The Electrical Engineer oversees a specific discipline area within Architecture & Engineering to ensure criteria and construction documents are technically accurate and coordinated.

Develops with Vendor, Utility Company, and management to reduce operating and first costs.

Responsibilities/Skills/Experience Requirements Gathers and assesses technical data to assist in determining whether to proceed with project, how to obtain governmental approvals, and set up various systems such as electrical, utility, and sewage.

Coordinates sites, building designs, leasing layouts, and construction for retail stores.

Manages the development, implementation and administration of operational policies, programs and systems within a functional area.

Establishes methods and procedures for departmental work activities; identifies and resolves operational problems; and communicates expertise and approvals concerning departmental activities.

Works in conjunction with Real Estate, Store Planning, and Construction personal to ensure construction is technically accurate and in compliance with appropriate statutes; works in conjunction with Store Operations and Distribution Centers personnel, headquarters management, vendors and utility companies to develop energy policy, design and programs to improve annual operating costs.

Troubleshoots and solves problems regarding any technical or managerial concerns and issues.

Ensures appropriate technical guidelines are adhered to in order to maintain technical accuracy.

Reviews and approves criteria documents.

Reviews and signs construction documents such as drawings and specifications and signs and seals drawings as necessary.

Ensures criteria documents are technically accurate and comply with appropriate codes and regulations.

Researches and examines products and technologies for possible use in facilities.

Recommends products and technologies to purchase; implements products and technologies as appropriate.

Approves cost analyses for use as an estimate of project costs; determines appropriate staffing for projects to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost effective manner; reviews and selects consultants for construction projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.

Minimum of ten (10) years design experience with some management experience or equivalent.

Professional registration in architecture or engineering, as related to job. Strong knowledge of architecture or engineering principles and practices, as required for job. Strong knowledge of construction practices.

Strong knowledge in energy rebate programs nationally and energy management systems.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Strong organizational, management, and administrative skills.

Strong analytical ability to gather and interpret data, and develop, recommend, and implement solutions.
