Yahoo! currently has various levels and types of Database Developer positions available at our office in Burbank, California .

Provide customers with information and data they need for planning, analysis, and decision-making; work closely with those customers to understand key business drivers behind data requests.

Create and maintain database tables, scripts, and reports to support business intelligence across the company.

The person in this position would also be required to work closely in collaborative efforts with team members in the Business Information, Strategic Data Services and other technology and business groups.

Utilizes graduate-level research and analysis skills.

Positions require Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Physics or related technical field and 1 year experience in developer-related occupation.

May utilize the following skills: working as a database developer, performing complex and extensive SQL database queries, and creating and maintaining scripts and tables for ORACLE 10g relational databases; database developments tools- TOAD, SQL Loader; ORACLE query performance tuning using explain plan, trace files, indexes, table partitioning, and database hints; design and development of PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and other database objects for complex data analysis; developing advanced shell/PERL based aggregation scripts within advanced development frameworks; Unix/Linux environments; very large transactional and reporting databases with size > 1TB; logical and physical database design and data modeling; problem solving and navigating complicated database relationships and understanding how data can best be leveraged to meet customer needs; complete report development lifecycle including business requirement gathering, design, and development using in-house or third party reporting applications.
