Circuit Design Engineer
Position Overview: Seeking a hardware development engineer with a minimum of 15 years hands on experience in the Networking/Telecom industry.
The candidate will have strong experience with digital circuit design, implementation of high speed I/Os at the board level, and high-speed bus and clock termination techniques.
The position will involve design and development of drivers and card utilizing Microprocessors, Network Processors, FPGA/CPLD, Memory, Framers and Line Interface ICs including OC3, OC48, Ethernet, ATM, PL3, SPI, XAUI and xDSL.
Responsibilities will include taking board designs from conception through full production, including the utilization of schematic capture, PCB layout, and logic & signal integrity simulation tools.
Testing of designs including generation of firmware drivers and scripting via the CLI. The candidate should be a detail oriented team player with a solid record of producing high quality products, in a fast paced and flexible environment.
Qualifications: · BSEE or equivalent required and MSEE is desirable · 15+ years experience in Telecom hardware board-level designs from concept to production · Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
· Excellent analysis and design skills.
· Background in carrier class voice and broadband access products involving OC3, OC48, ATM, Ethernet, IP, and DSL. · Basic knowledge of routing protocols, preferably MPLS, ATM, GFP, CES, and IP · Experience in creating/developing test scripts using Tcl, Shell, Perl, or Java · Background in Data Networking Electronics including Service Edge Routers · Experience with design of firmware drivers, C-language and real-time operating systems · Knowledge of G983 and G984 PON specifications.
· Knowledge of appropriate design, manufacturing, and reliability considerations for high-speed circuitry and optical transmission.
· Experience with Mentor and Cadence schematic capture CAD software · Experience with Agile and Perforce Document Control Software · Experience with NEBS, FCC and UL requirements is desirable.
