Buyer/Planner - Mountain ViewBuyer/Planner - Mountain ViewGoogle requires a world class supply chain to deliver the computer and networking equipment for its ever-expanding global data centres.

Our team is made up of engineers and supply chain professionals who design, build and manage that supply chain.

The focus is not just on cost and delivery but how to best manufacture Google's confidential and proprietary internal computer hardware.

The role: Buyer/Planner The Buyer/Planner role is an intricate part Google’s Supply Chain Organization, assisting multiple teams both internal and external to Google’s Platforms Team.

This position supports New Product Introduction functions in the form of Planner and Buyer, as well as sustaining activities in a Buyer role.

Responsibilities: Place a high volume of order for various types of commodities, maintain budget records and provide high level of Customer Service for internal customers.

Source, evaluate and recommend potential suppliers, support cost reduction programs.

Develop partnerships with other groups to foster cross-functional teamwork and achieve desired targets while demonstrating the strength to support departmental viewpoints and policy.

Execute order processing from Oracle Material Requirements Planning output.

Follow up on open purchase orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery and communicate with internal customers to resolve receiving and accounts payable discrepancies.

Requirements: BA or BS preferred and with an excellent academic record.

At least 6 years of Supply Chain Procurement experience.

Self-starter, detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver who is able to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Team player with excellent communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to operate software applications including Google Docs, MS Word, Excel, etc., (ERP and/or Oracle 11i experience preferred).
