Associate Terminal Product Engineer New Page 1 The Associate Terminal Product Engineer will have a fundamental understanding of wireless communication principles and theories that apply to the design, operation and test of CDMA wireless devices.
The Engineer will participate in certification testing and test case development for a variety of mobile device products.
Test case development encompasses understanding requirements, interpreting standards and producing test documentation.
The scope of certification testing includes all aspects of current and future device functionality, eg parametric, field, application, data, user interface.
Certification program involves the identification, problem isolation and root cause analysis of test issues Responsibilities · Hardware/Software Testing per CDMA standards and internal/external specifications · Compliance Testing on live networks and in a laboratory environment · Must be able to spend periods of time conducting tests and analyzing data in a moving test vehicle · Knowledge of CDMA standards, layer 3 messaging and call flow processes · Call Performance testing using Mobile Diagonsitic Monitors (eg Spirent UDM, and Qualcomm CAIT) to verify device compliance and performance.
· Test case development for evolving wireless devices and services.
· Short and long term analysis of test data to develop integrated product and process improvements · Compilation of various written and verbal reports on the testing results · Experience executing data testing including mobile operating systems, applications and protocols (EV-DO, Push to Talk, Session Initiated Protocol, VoIP, TCP/IP, etc) · Will participate in project planning · Assist with communications within teams, cross functionally, and with vendors Qualifications · BS in Engineering required · 1-3 years professional experience in cellular or wireless telecommunication · Status Reporting experience required · Previous experience Risk Management/ Contingency Planning a plus · Strong understanding of team dynamics as an active team member · Experience working with multiple simultaneous subjects of a complex nature required · Strong written and verbal skills To find out how you can become a part of it with a career with US Cellular, visit www.uscellular.com/employment today.
