Technology Integration Specialist: Episcopal High School
The technology integration specialists responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Work with faculty members to integrate technology in the classroom by observing current teaching methods, devising innovative methods, and facilitating the adoption of such methods.
Effectively communicate technology ideas and best practices to all faculty.
Instruct and assist in the use of peripherals such as VGA Projectors, digital cameras, digital media recorders, language labs, Ethernet connections, wireless network connections, external hard drives, and smart boards.
Track and maintain progress on technology objectives and initiatives.
Provide written instructions for common technical tasks as needed.
Assist faculty in creating and maintaining course-related web pages.
Instruct faculty in the use of online teaching methods in preparation for unscheduled closures.
Instruct faculty and students in the use of social networking and Podcasting to enhance curriculum.
Instruct faculty and students in the use of Mac OS X and Windows, which will be installed in Parallels or Fusion.
Assist students with problems in operating systems, installed applications, and MacBook hardware.
Qualifications: At least a bachelors degree, with some previous teaching experience.
Ability to understand academic goals, graduated delivery of instruction, and the demands of student assessment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Make both seasoned faculty and new freshmen comfortable with your presence and guidance.
Good listener.
Self-starter and independent worker.
Reliable and energetic.
Ability to work with both Mac OS and Windows.
Ability to translate analogue tasks to digital task sets.
Ability to document progress and activities related to faculty training.
Ability to use or learn to use social networking applications such as Moodle, Twitter, Ning, IM, and Facebook.
A belief in or understanding of values-based policies instead of filtering for the management of appropriate Internet use. The successful candidate will report to the Director of Technology, David Lankford.
