Departmental Required Skills Knowledge of Point and Click Electronic Medical Records.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Must work in inclement weather (essential employee) and disasters (mandatory employee).
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education Strong communication skills.
Appreciation of needs of college age population (patient expectations are very high.
) Prefer experience in medical office, student health office, ambulatory care.
Experience making referrals in community Essential Job Duties Works in clinics with nurses, MOAs, physician extenders and physicians and other allied health professionals.
Prepares the patient for the appointment by taking and recording vital signs, preparing patient for examination, chaperoning the provider and assisting the provider with procedures.
Cleaning and restocking of rooms; preparing for procedures and clean up after.
Other Work/Responsibilities Adheres to safety health laws and regulations.
Participates in emergency preparedness drills.
Necessary Licenses or Certifications If applicable, registration as a nurse aide by the NC Board of Nursing within four months of employment.
