Executive Secretary to the Board of Governors: Colorado State University
Executive Secretary to the Board of Governors The Board of Governors of the Colorado State University System seeks a new Executive Secretary to the Board.
This senior-level position reports directly to the Governors and indirectly to the CSU System Chancellor and is uniquely charged to coordinate and facilitate the Boards efficient and effective governance.
Available November 1, 2010, this position is located in the CSU Board office in downtown Denver.
The Board and the CSU System are integral contributors to the economic development and quality of life in Colorado, and the Board Secretary fills a pivotal role in serving that mission.
The Board has authority and responsibility for oversight of the three-campus CSU System (www.colostate.edu): CSU-Fort Collins, CSU-Pueblo, and the online CSU Global Campus.
The total operating budget is $886 million, and enrollment exceeds 31,000.
The Executive Secretary provides leadership, counsel, facilitation and administration of the Boards meetings, programs, communication and initiatives.
This individual oversees all operations and staffing of the Board office, serves as a liaison between the Board and the System Chancellor and campus Presidents.
Compensation and benefits associated with this position are highly competitive.
Candidates should have an outstanding leadership record, excellent administrative, organizational and communication skills, and a documented history of distinguished professional experience.
A masters or professional degree, such as JD or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline (ie law, business, communications, public policy), is requested.
Understanding of higher education issues and practices is highly desirable.
