The Director of Career Services supervises all aspects of the Career Services Office.

The Director is responsible for general office supervision, including managing the budget, supervision employees, and student workers, and maintaining and enhancing the resource materials.The Director of Career Services will be responsible for planning and implementing and innovative marketing strategy for identifying a diverse group of potential employers and for developing and maintaining a database as well as a web-based program for students.Key Job Responsibilities • Carry out KHEC Mission: Kaplan helps individuals achieve their educational and career goals.

• Hire and train Career Services support staff.

• Conduct and/or monitor and properly document individual and group training sessions and regular department meetings to ensure expected performance and growth standards.

• Create and deliver 90-day and annual employee evaluations.

• Develop and maintain relationships with employers for the purposes of externship/internship and job placement of graduates.

• Use Commitment-BasedTM Placement sales process when contacting and meeting with potential employers and externship/internship sites.

• Develop job orders from employers, send graduates' resumes, assist in scheduling interviews, and follow up with employers and graduates.

• Organize job fairs on campus, attend outside job fairs, invite employers to speak in classrooms, and arrange on-campus interviews.

• Ensure that each student meets one-on-one with Career Services personnel to determine job interests.

• Oversee Career Development course.

Depending on size of Career Services Department, the Director of Career Services may also teach the course.

• Provide resources to students and graduates for their job search.

• Timely completion and submission of all required reports for campus Executive Director or President, Group, Regional and Home Office, accrediting agency, and state licensing board (if applicable).

• Ensure compliance with KHEC, accreditation, and state guidelines/standards for placement.

• Attend weekly management meeting.

• Attend all new student orientations and graduate commencement ceremonies.

• Assist in-school students in finding part-time employment.

• Maintain and update Career Services bulletin boards and stopping stations.

• Conduct weekly accountability meetings.

• Maintain graduate files.

• Use computer system to maintain accurate graduate and alumni database.

Graduate job information and waiver/exemption information must be documented and verified.

• Continuously survey graduates and employers to ensure that programs meet or exceed current job market and employer needs.

Recommend changes to current programs and ideas for new programs to campus Management Team.

• Assist in completion of feasibility studies for new programs.

• Develop yearly department budget and approve all department expenditures.

• Work with Education Department to: o schedule and conduct regular advisory board meetings.

o manage externship/internship program.

o organize annual commencement ceremony.

• Resolve student issues concerning placement and externship/internship.

• Work with other departments within the school.

• Special projects as assigned by campus Executive Director or President.

• Other duties as requiredMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS).

Two to four years experience and/or training Must have demonstrable management and organizational skills.

Computer knowledge recommended.

Individual must possess strong oral and written communication proficiency.

Position requires exceptional social interaction skills.

Consistently display the highest levels of integrity.

Ability to prioritize, multi-task, perform well under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible schedule.

Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with the job market.

Previous experience in career counseling, marketing, workshop planning or administration.
