Asst Professor - Mgr
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinica
1. Provide professional faculty coverage in the Division of Endocrinology Department.
2. Examine patients and coordinate services for their care.
Perform procedures, collect data, analyze data and make decisions regarding patient care, including initial screening, assessment, diagnosis, prognosis, care, reassessment and discontinuation of care.
Formulate, maintain, support, monitor and modify a patient-specific plan for care, treatment and rehabilitation based on the patient's assessment.
Plan and coordinate care, treatment and rehabilitation for discharged patients.
3. Monitor medical care of medical students, residents and fellows to assure care provided is safe.
4. Supervise and teach medical students, residents and fellows in pediatric Division of Endocrinology medicine.
5. Serve as consult to other faculty and community physicians, external Division Endocrinology departments and Division of Endocrinology medical service providers.
6. Monitor appropriateness of therapeutic management and care to assure that it occurs in a timely fashion.
7. Assume responsibility for patient care on an ongoing basis.
8. Promote patient care outcomes on ongoing basis.
9. Prepare, organize and provide lectures for residents, rotating in the Division of Endocrinology Department.
10. Prepare and regularly teach at bedside in the Endocrinology Department.
11. Design and conduct clinical research in Endocrinology medicine which will be submitted to pediatric Division of Endocrinology medicine conferences.
Administrativ
12. Implement departmental policies, procedures and philosophy as consistent with Cincinnati Children's policies and values.
13. Maintain currency in all departmental policies, procedures and standards.
14. Document patient care on appropriate records.
15. Complete reports as required by Cincinnati Children's.
16. Promote interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships and encourage team concepts.
17. Complete evaluations for students, residents and peers.
18. Promote both internal and external customer service through the development and implementation of programs and standards which reflect that goal.
19. Promote programs that assure the compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies.
20. Assist in the design and implementation of programs which evaluates the efficacy of treatment.
Recommend approaches for improvement activities, recommend and perform new processes, collect and measure data, develop processes based on performance and communicate results.
21. Promote professional input in-service training programs, both for technical and non-technical staff.
22. Represent the Division of Endocrinology Department at hospital administration meeting and respond to administrative memos; inform personnel of policy changes developed by administration; implement these changes.
23. Assist in obtaining funding from outside sources for research and teaching program.
24. Promote the implementation of long and short term goals and objectives and ensures that they are appropriate to the Division of Endocrinology Program and are integrated with the mission statement of CHMC in conjunction with the Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics.
25. Maintain currency in field through continuing education, literature and seminars.
Implement this knowledge into the Division of Endocrinology Department.
31. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Capable of relating to diverse age and demographic backgrounds.
Professional knowledge and Administrative ability sufficient to plan and control activities and personnel.
Analytical ability required to evaluate data, to make judgments and recommendations regarding operations and to design protocols.
Possess organization, analysis, supervision and prioritization abilities.
Knowledge of outside regulating agencies, roles and responsibilities.
Possess sound knowledge of procedures and regulations specific to the assessment and care of infants, children and adolescents.
EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: Ph.D or Medical Degree (MD), Board Certification in Pediatrics Endocrinology and Board Certification in Pediatric Medicine required.
Previous operational and supervisory experience in complex medical center preferred.
