Academic DeanThe Academic Dean in the Education Department will be a person of broad vision and high integrity with a well-developed understanding of and commitment to the proprietary college philosophy.
The Dean will enhance and help promote our mission by providing academic leadership and supervision of the college's instructional programs and services, regulatory affairs, accreditation and compliance.
To accomplish this mission, the Dean will utilize his/her talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs.
Specific Responsibilites include: *Be responsible for the administration of all direct instructional and instructional-related services of the college.
*Provide educational supervision for program offerings in career, general education, and transfer and community education.
*Supervise student personnel service programs and other institution-wide support services.
*Oversee the provision of data and support for accreditation, strategic planning, enrollment management, and Bauder College requests (IPEDS etc).
*Provide administrative oversight and support the review of academic and non-academic programs and the assessment of educational and institutional effectiveness.
*Ensure compliance with relevant city, state and federal statutes including Title VII, Title IX Sexual Harassment Policies, Section 504 and Americans with Disabilities Act, and respond to and conduct investigations of non-compliance complaints.
*Develop partnerships with business, government, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, as well as community and statewide agencies and organizations.
*Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: *Master's Degree.
The submission of official transcripts of all degree work by the successful candidate is required.
*Minimum of three (3) years of successful and documented teaching experience.
*Minimum of one (1) year of successful and documented experience in a management- or supervisory-level position within an education department.
*Knowledgeable in Microsoft Applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
*Must demonstrate ability to effectively supervise a staff and promote teamwork.
*Must possess the ability and skill to exercise initiative and function successfully as a member of a fast-paced executive management team.
*Must possess excellent organizational skills, communication, interpersonal relationship and problem-solving skills, and a high capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
*Must possess experience in student retention, scheduling, and instructional observation, evaluation and training are highly desirable.
*Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language clearly and understandably.
