Just received my Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, and having a hard time finding a job.?

I just graduated with a degree in software engineering, I am having some trouble finding leads. I would like to work in the Silicon Valley but the market seems pretty saturated in that area. I have my resume on every job site out there, and I've applied to all the big businesses like Apple, HP, and IBM. Any suggestions?

Try applying to a Government defense contractor - Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, L3, etc. Those companies are always looking for Software Engineers. Also having a degree in Software Engineering would probably give you a little bit of a different edge than with just a Computer Science or Engineer degree.

I have a Computer Science degree and received my job right before I graduated.

Travis county, Texas. A lot of the companies in the Silicon Valley have run for the Texas Hill Country. Dell is there and so are others. Its a quick plane ride from Houston, Denver, New Orleans, and St Louis. And the cost of living is lower than high tax California.

Lower you sights and exceptions. We are in a long term depression and it will be at least 3 to 5 years before you can realistically except to see the job market in an upward swing.

Try experience.com and get an internship and u might have to register through your school. Companies often look for entry level at colleges that don't show up on their website.

Most of the Silicon Valley forms are hiring in Austin TX, Colorado and other areas. While they are letting people go in California as it is too expensive to employ them there.

Look further afield.

Also, what can you do special that you learned above and beyond school. We hired our programmer as he installed Linux servers for charities while in college. Employers want to know that sort of stuff. You need to stand out.
