I have this mental block for looking and applying for new jobs.?

Here is the deal i am about to graduate college. I applied for an RA job last year which means resident assistant in the dorms. I was thinking that being an RA would help me both socially and mentally as well. Make a long story short i didn't get the job and because of this i feel i won't get hired anywhere else. So i get to the point and saying sometimes what point is there finishing college if i could not get that job The disappointment has put a huge block on me being hopeful to find future jobs. Sad thing is i knew the person who was in charge of hiring. Should i feel this way why or why not? For any RA'S out there may i have dodged a bullet not getting that job a lot of people have told me this.

I think you're reading too much into this. LIfe is full of disappointments and to be upset just because you didn't get the job and you knew the person doing the hiring is lame. You must be about 22 years old and I can't imagine you haven't had a job, even if part time, since you were 16. Now you're an adult, school is over, and you have to step up and aggressively search for a way to make a living like everyone else. I think you're more upset about ending the college life and having to move one. You'll get over it and it'll work out.
