I'm just 11 years old living in Toronto,Canada and I want to know some good summer and serious jobs for later?

I know it's a little early to be thinking about this but anyways, the summer job is just temporary and should have decent salary. Please don't suggest any burger-joints like McDonald's,baby-sitting, or tutoring. As for my serious job I want something with a good salary and NOT BORING. Perhaps a Agent or Architect. thanks. :)

McDonald's, Tim Horton's... they're all going to want at least 14 usually 15-16 years of age so it is a bit early. Landscaping pays well, but it's long hours, early start and hard, manual labour.

The jobs themselves often will be boring, but if you work in a friendly place it can make all the difference. I was a cashier all through high school and the boss treated us with respect and everyone including the customers were friendly. In the summer I'd pick up an additional part time job and every year I'd quit that job come fall and keep the grocery shop job because even though other jobs paid a little bit more the other employees and atmosphere just wasn't that great.

Waitressing I hear can earn you descent money (thanks to tips) but you'll need to be 18 so that you can serve alcohol (18 to serve, 19 to drink. Not sure why it's like that, but there you go).

You're not going to be able to do anything like Architect as a summer job - being an architect requires many years of university. If you have an interest in architecture there may be some odd jobs you could do with an architect (but it will be things like making coffee, or receptionist).

If you want a good job, stay in school, study like mad throughout university and you can do whatever you want. Until then, you'll need to re-adjust your expectations of what possible things you could be qualified to do when you're 15.

I like eTeenJobs. They have a great website set up for teenagers looking for summer jobs. They help you start thinking about your career after school and have tons of information.
