Writing a resume for the first time?? No real work experience?

I'm a high school student, and I love being at the library, so I want to do some community hours there. However, the librarian said I need to enter a resume in order to work there for community hours. I'm in grade 9, so I don't really have a job and I don't know what to put on my resume. I'm not as confused about what to put as work experience (I have small jobs here and there), I just don't know what headings/sections to put in the resume. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a librarian and here's what I'd like to see:

Contact information: Your name, address, phones, e-mail

What you want to do: Do you want to help with programs, clean shelves, work outside on the landscaping, clean childrens' books, help with computers? Ask the librarian what things they have their volunteers do & pick a few things you think you would like.

˘Positive personal characteristics (You fulfill your responsibilities, don't miss school unless sick)

˘Technical and computer skills you have

˘Experience that would show useful skills-keyboarding, literature, art, design & math are all useful)

˘Educational accomplishments (Grade level & GPA)

˘Other related accomplishments (design awards, recognition, winning competitions etc.)

˘Extra curricular activities (For some reason, band folks do quite well. If you have many, many activities, you may want to consider if you really have enough time)

List 3 references with phone numbers. Teachers, scout leaders, someone you did those small jobs for, your minister and especially the school librarian all make good references. Usually they tell you not to list references, but for a volunteer it saves time if I have that info at hand.

Make sure your parents are on board. They may have to give written permission for you to volunteer.
