I am applying for teachers assistant, however I am currently a volunteer, the director suggested I go for the interview. The workplace allows workers to wear jeans while they work. Should I wear jeans or regular dress pants?

As an Operations Manager myself I would definitely say no. Regardless of how casual the job allows you to dress you should always be more respectful on the interview. I would suggest something in the area of office casual because overdressing for some positions give an equally bad message. The idea is to show that you respect the job and the management as well as yourself. too casual gives the message that you did not care enough to be presentable and over dressing at times will make you uncomfortable, anxious, and fidgety especially if you do not wear formal clothing often. Sell yourself well but make sure your clothes show that you are respectful, confident, and will fit in.

Regular dress pants. If the dress code is casual, you want to dress above the dress code and show you take this opportunity seriously. I can't think of any job interviews where jeans would be appropriate.

Wear dress pants that aren't too fancy, like khaki dress pants. If the workplace requires jeans then I would wear jeans to the interview. If they only allow them but do not require them, then I would wear dress pants and not jeans.

Dress pants. It'll be better to be overdressed than under-dressed.
