Since day one she's been nothing but crude, rude and obnoxious to me. Let's call her Lady J. There's another woman who has been with the company for more than 18 years and they are frick and frat. Misery loves company. I have had prob's with both but I think the woman who has worked here for a long time is convinced by Lady J to dislike me and to make it hard for me. I have talked to the boss about both and while things sometimes seem to get better, most times they ignore me, eat together, talk all day long to one another, etc, etc. I have decided to just completely ignore Lady J but sometimes it gets VERY hard. I don't like strife nor complications but will not tolerate any one treating me like junk either. Just the other day she was "befriending" me by talking bad about the woman who has been here for years. I've already got her # so I'll pretend I don't hear her. Won't get caught up in office gossip. Since yesterday she's been ignoring me again and won't say much to me. I'm convinced she's bipolar. How can anyone cope with someone like this?!

Act professional at all times, and kill them with kindness. Here's the scoop, gossip and clicks don't just thrive in High school. The workplace is increasingly seeing examples of what you describe above. It sounds like you are probably younger than the "lifer" at your job. Are you getting more projects than she is? Are you looking to better your position, rather than stay at the same level? these are common catalysts to the behavior you're describing. What you need to do is keep your head to the grindstone and impress your boss... Nothing else matters, if you already brought it up once to your boss, and you haven't seen much improvement- I wouldn't say anything again, I would just do everything that I can to be the best associate I could be, and leave the two hags in the dust, they can comfort each other while you climb your own career ladder. Hang in there- and if you really can't stand it, use it as a kick in the rear to find something else out there. Don't let gossipy people bring you down. it's not worth it.

We don't necessarily have to be friends with the people we work with. we just do our job.

You have tolerated it for two years so why are you putting it here? If you just want to vent I guess that is okay, but I don't think you are looking for an answer.

Since the boss doesn't have a problem with the other two women then it may be time for you to move on to a different job. Work up a resume and look for something else.
