Will being terminated from a position be placed on your background check?
I use to work for chase bank from august 2007 till june 2008. I was terminated due to not abiding bt code of conduct. I was looking at an account, just being nosy and was fired because that person than lied and said i stole his ssn number and all this other type of mess. I regret it everyday but I am trying to move on with my life. 2 year later and I still haven't been able to find a job. some people say to put chase down on my resume while others say not to, but I wanted to know if I don't put them down what do I say to the question why I was fired without causing confusion or looking like the bad guy. and if i choose not to put them down on my resume, can a potential employer find out, via background check. someone please help me. It's been 2 years and i'm still looking for work. I need some type of advice.

You should add this job to your resume and check the box that says "It is not ok to contact this employer". If you don't put chase on your paperwork at all you are basically lying about it. Yes your current employer or potential employer can find out where you have worked with a background check. So if you lie about this former job with Chase you will seem like a very dishonest person. If your potential employer asks why you were let go just be honest and tell them that you violated their policy and as a result you were terminated. It may not look great, but at least it's honest. |
