Why is my background check taking so long? and am I even going to get this job?

So i went in for an interview for this job things went well i did the drug test then i turned the paperwork in the following Monday. i was told to expect to start work that Wednesday or Friday at the latest. that was about a month ago. since then i kept in contact with the manager and all he really tells me every time is i'll call you when i hear something. so i kind of feeling like i don't have the job and that maybe they expect me to just forget about it or something, and they will just not call me back. Am i over thinking this and there are reasonable explanations as to why its taking so long and just need to be patient? or am i getting the go around with this?

You attack them in all directions by phone, by email, by fax. no one should be stringed along that long and it should take them 3 days to do the background check. The manager has no control over this, it's the company, or his HR. you need to call them up.demanad and answer. |
