Why cant i get a job ?!?

Ok so i live in canada and im a high school student [graduating this year]
lately i went to about 30 different places [retails mainly like supersrote,wallmart,pet store etc.] to apply and they said they are hiring....its been a month and nobody called back !
my resume is not the problem....what can be the problem ? what should i do ?
people told me to go try again in those places....is that normal ?
what are the chances coming back to those places that my luck would change ?
and the main Q - how should i exactly rephrase my question to the manager after the part i say "hi i applied for a job here 3 weeks ago...." ?!

Be aware that jobs that used to go to young people just out of school are now going to older people who have been laid off or lost their jobs because their company went broke so the competition even for minimum wage crap jobs like Walmart is stiff. Do call every couple weeks to every place that you have left a resume or filled out an application and check in but it is not necessary to fill out new applications. |

If you've really been turned down that many times than there may be something else going on. Do a self check. How are you dressed? It may be great for you, but does it fit in with what the employees are wearing? Do you come across pushy, or a wimp or do you come across as someone with confidence it herself? Have a friend you trust confide in you is she can tell you what might be the problem. Sometimes another point of view can help a lot. |
