Ignore the others, we're not thieves and we're not out to hurt people. We are facilitating people who have bad credit to get cars in the first place! If banks didn't have repo guys, the single mom with barely any income would NOT be able to get a car, because there would be no guarantee for the bank to get their collateral back in the event she is unable to pay. Believe it or not we ARE the good guys. It's just not a fun job, and will get VERY boring driving for hours and hours and not finding a single car.

That said. It is a TOUGH business to get involved in, because first you need to find a repo company, then you need to convince them that you won't leave after they sponsor you, and the only way to get an EE intern license is to be sponsored by a recovery agency. Granted this is Florida law mind you, every state has different repo laws, FL is governed by Chapter 492 if you want to look it up. Once you're sponsored you have to intern (play copilot) for a year before you will be allowed to work for yourself and repo cars on your own, personally I don't think a year is long enough but thats another story. If and I mean IF you can get sponsored count yourself lucky, after that it will take another 2 years to get the E license, which means you are a certified repo man and can work for yourself open your own company, etc etc. But thats why its so hard to get one, because the repo company you're working for did the same thing to someone else and left them high and dry to start their own repo company, and most if not all repo men in business for themselves know this and usually refuse to sponsor anyone they don't know personally. I'm actually thinking of starting a recovery school here in FL to help people get into the business and teach them the RIGHT way to repo as there are too many idiots out there causing trouble.

PS: Those repo shows are BS, I've been doing this 12+ years, I'm only 30 and have never come across so much stupidity in my life, and for the love of god DO NOT CARRY A GUN!!! The cops will arrest you on the spot for violating the very law you are governed by for reposessions.
