I am looking for resources that will help me with my career path. I am unemployed, job searching and have very little money. I am in my mid-40s trying very hard to "find my place" now that the company closed that I previously worked for (about 6 mos ago). I have taken some temp jobs and made mistakes in terms of adapting to the company culture. What used to work for me and was encouraged - to meet or exceed expectations - now longer works, things have changed and I need to learn to adapt. I know I will not thrive in a "do what you're told and only what you're told, no more, no less" environment and am thinking maybe it's time for a career change? I am ready and willing to learn, change and work at fitting in. Now I just need to know how. I would be grateful for any guidance or resources that are suggested.

Look up "state" career center. All states have them. They are free and that is their job. To help people find jobs |

I unearthed the site in the box below over the past few weeks when I was hunting for a fresh career. I was in a dead-end job but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do or how to get there. The guidance on the site helped me to decide on my fresh career, and gave me some great thoughts about how to start. |
