When applying for an internship via email, how do you format the email?

I'm in high school and i have to do a summer internship.

i know at some point you write a cover letter, but is that what you email first to the company?

and when do you send your resume?

Yes, the 1st letter, (pg they will see when they open the email) will be a cover letter then attach your resume to the email.

start the letter in this format:

(4 spaces from top enter date)

then 4 spaces later type address of company like you would on a letter:

Attn: Hiring Personel or Hiring Manager

Name of company

1234 Some st.

Some City, CA 92304

4 spaces again: your name

1234 some st.

some city, CA 92130

2 spaces later: To whom it concerns:

I am looking to work at your company for an intership etc etc.

Attached you will find my resume & my contact information

I'll be looking forward to hearing from you soon
