The question is how many hours can you work weekly, and it's for a part time position. I will be start college in less than a month so I still want time to study and do homework and all that. So how many hours do you think I should work?

Make sure you figure that out before you apply for a job, there are allot of employers that love p-time people.. but be honest with them and yourself about the hours you are available. If you wanna work just the evening a couple of hours and then work more on the weekends to balance your time.

I used a manager of a fast food restaurant and we liked college students more than High school students because college students were more responsible and did not complain as much. We were very flexible and understanding about test and time needed to study. Good Luck With College I wish you the best!

10-15. If you think you can handle more hours later then ask for more.

If you are in school, it's best to keep your work hours on the short end. I'd say no more than 10 to 15 hours a week. I tried working more than that when I was in school, and my grades dropped so much I had to quit that job and get another one that fit my schedule better. Your main job while in college is to get a good education and good grades. It's a waste of tuition if you do poorly in your classes. You've got years and years after college to work long hours, don't get in a hurry to start.

If you can find a job that relates to your major in some way, that's even better. You might even consider volunteering somewhere if it's even closer to your major than what you are looking at working at now. Looks good on a resume to volunteer and gives you hands-on experience in the field.
