What would you do if someone was stealing?

Hey. I'm applying for a lot of jobs at stores and such. Im trying to get ready for any interviews I might have to do, and I thought of a question i have no answer to. What would I do if I saw somebody stealing? I'm 16 and I really have no clue. Would I call them out? Get another worker? What if I was alone? Call the police? Memorize what they were wearing? What would the right thing be to do in that situation? haha please tell me what you think. because now i'm always going to be scared about it haha

My answer would probably be either of these:

A.) Confront them, depending on how safe they looked.

B.) Get a manager immediately.

C.) Get another employee to go with you to confront the person.

D.) Keep a strong eye on them and memorize their features and clothing while you call security and/or the police.

I personally think that the best choice would be to immediately call the police or security. That is what I would do. But it's whatever works best for you... (that's why I gave you options) =)

Tell security and have them searched before leaving the store

Some store have security people on duty. Others leave it to management. If you were there alone, you WOULD be management. Just tell your boss.
