What would be the best thing to do?

My husband finally got a call for a job interview last Friday and has an interview set up for tomorrow at 9 am. Well this past Tuesday, another company called and he got the job and he starts the same day as the interview. the company that's giving him the interview is a better place to work for but he is already a new employee with the other place. He wants to work for the company that's giving him the interview because this place is way closer to home & has better benefits. but doesn't wanna ruin the job he does have if the interview doesn't go well or they don't hire him. If this makes any sense. Please give any advice you have. We really need some opinions. should he go to this interview or just be glad he has a job.

also he isn't gonna quit the job he just got hired at, he just wants to see if he can get a job with the company he really wants to work for...(he is a coal miner and what should he do if he does get the other job??????????

please no rude comments. I hope this makes sense, that's the only way I could think to ask it.

When you get a job, they ask you what day you can start on. It shouldn't make a difference that he starts one day later.

He should call the employer that hired him and set a start date that doesn't interfere with the interview. Do not tell the employer that has hired him, "I need to start a day late because of another interview." Don't say that. Don't say anything if you can help it, but you may have to come up with a creative excuse.
