1st of all F.Y.I. in the U.S.A. any business has to legally have employment applications lying around. They can't deny you the opportunity to fill out an application whether they are currently hiring or not. However, here is what you say. Speak to the first employee you see preferably a manager but any employee will do and you say "Hi I was wondering if your hiring for any positions?" Do you know of any positions that are currently available?" They will tell you what they know. Then you say may I please have an application. If they tell you they are not hiring but you really want to work there. You say. "If it's o.k. I'd like to fill one out anyway. Just in case something opens up. I'd really like to work here." Then when you fill out the applications and the application asks you when you can start say anytime/ immediately. when they ask you desired wage write minimum.

I would just shorten it to, greeting plus: "are you accepting job applications?" The "I was wondering" always sounds wishy-washy.

That is pretty much it. You might also inquire if they are hiring so you don't waste time filling out applications at places with no openings.

Yup thats about right. perhaps ask if they are hiring, and if you can speak with the hiring manager there if they are available. talk about hiring you and ur avaliablity. :D

and if you rly want the job... call back every few days or so and check up on ur applications status.
