What should I put for reason for leaving job?

Category: Other

Im currently employed. Should i just state that on application where they ask why you left job? If they want to know they can ask me in interview right? The reason im leaving is somewhat complicated. Im basically going to be laid off in the future. I've been notified of this by the company so they have given me a heads up to seek another job. I think it would be best to explain this in job interivew than on the application.

If you're currently employed I don't see the need to. Just list it as your current employment. During the interview if they ask why you're leaving this job then you can either tell them the truth or spin a nice tale which is about 50% truth.

Depends what your current employed may say in a reference if used.

Just say that you want a stable job because the one you have now is temporary

If you're still employed there then state that when you submit your resume/application. When it comes down to it, give the reasons why you want to work for the company you're applying at. Show your interest in the company that interviews you.

I don't think it's necessary to state you're going to be laid off and need another income--- unless you've already been laid off by the time you get an interview.

Why not tell the truth. That way you won't have to try and remember a lie and get caught in the future and become known as untrustworthy.

Simply say your current employer has advised you of a coming reduction in staff and you have been given the freedom to seek other employment. As a former Supervisor with hiring ability I appreciated honesty from a potential employee.
