What kind of jobs involve drumming?

I have found my passion. The only jobs I can think of are Guitar center Employee and being a professional drummer. One is low paying and the other one is only high paying if I'm one of the few lucky ones. Any other suggestions?

I think you just covered it bro. I actually went out on the road playing the east coast circuit at 17 years old. Started playing in Nashville by the time I was in my early 20's and continued playing on the road and recording until I was almost 30. It was fun, I gave it my best shot and don't regret it. I had a small amount of success and was lucky enough to get more breaks than your average person but that is a really tough living man. Most guys that try to make a living drumming play in a band, work as the percussion guy at a music store and teach lessons. The realization of how hard it is to actually make it big doesn't slap you in the face until you get close enough, by then you've spent a good chunk of your life getting there. I went back to college at 28 years old and gave up the road. Now I make 6 figures and still get to play on weekends for fun. It was the right choice for me but everyones got to walk their own path.
