What kind of career would be good for my friend? (Skills, etc)?

Category: Other

He is 20 years old, and not sure what kind of career path to take.

Education: high school diploma, 2 years of community college (general classes)

Skills: guitar, dirtbikes, drawing

He is really good at making little sketches, does not like working with people, he is athletic, kind, sensitive, and indecisive.

He really enjoy designing houses, but does not have the money for architecture school. He has considered MMI as well as physical therapy.

Basically, he has a lot of things he 'likes', but doesn't know where to go from here besides a business job, etc.

I was thinking graphic design or tattoo designer, while he was thinking owning a motorcycle shops.

Can you think of any careers that would be good for him that neither of us have thought of?

Thanks!

Your ideas are better. I doubt that he realizes how difficult it is to start, maintain, and operate a small business. I'm fairly certain that he doesn't have the slightest idea how to keep proper accounting records, obtain proper business licenses, etc. etc. He needs a JOB where someone else pays him. The big drawback is that he 'doesn't like working with people'. Well, he needs to lose that personality trait ASAP. That's part of working life.

Graphic design could be a well-paying career - tattoo designer is more of a job than a career.

I'd recommend a grocery store job - those are easy and pay well, BUT, you have to work with people. Same with tattoo design and graphic artist - you have to work with people. There's really no getting around it unless you become a starving artist isolating yourself in an apartment painting stuff that no one will most likely ever see, much less buy.
