What kind of a job can I get with few hours?

I'm looking to get my first job, but I don't want to work more than 10 or 15 hours a week. Mostly for health reasons - I have IBS and get sick quite a bit, especially when I'm stressed out, so I'm just looking for a few hours a week. I've heard that places are more willing to hire you when you have more open availability though..

I presume that IBS stands for irritable bowel syndrome. Try not to use abbreviations if they cannot be identified by everyone.

Since you are willing to look for a job with just a few hours of work per week, I presume you don't have to rely on that income for your daily living expenses, at least at this time. I would get a volunteer job at one or more non-profit organizations, although you probably will not receive any pay at all. These organizations are always looking for people who can give them a few hours per week and it looks terrific on your resume when you are ready to look for full time work. It also would help you find out how much stress a job does add to your life and affect your health. But then you may also find out that your fears were worse than what the job actually provided.

My first job was just a few hours each saturday - as a home help at a farm, doing cleaning, ironing etc...

or you could get a job as a bar-tender at a pub, usually just a few hours (4 or 5) a couple of times a week.
