When I'm older, I would like to help children in abusive situations. I want to help them escape the source of abusive, whether it be a father, mother, sister, anyone really. I don't want to be a psyciatrist though.

You could be a Social worker. You'll need to go to University, then be prepared to be bogged down with paperwork and admin, spending 80% of your time chasing after other "professionals" and doing reports. 15% will spent driving and you may occasionally get to see the families.

Of course, you are expected to enter dangerous situations on your own, be assaulted, bioth physically and verbally and be pounced on by ignorant people how call you a baby snatcher.

Foster parent, school counselor, social worker, adoptive parent, pastor, teacher, pediatrician, even just a day care provider. Basically any job that would put you into contact with children from tough situations regularly. Foster and adoptive parents obviously tend to have the most contact, doctors and other professionals often have the most knowledge to help.

It's a noble goal, but it wears most people thin, you have to have tough skin, keen mind, and a soft heart to do it well.

Best of luck.

Blessing.
