Hello

i was wondering what the job is called where you make weapons.

im not talking about making those little bb guns, but like military stuff.

like designing nuclear bombs, testing out weapons for warfare, designing high tech rifles, how a bullet would travel using speed/ weight, creating new & improved rockets ... etc

the job where you would also need to go to college to study physics/ chemistry/ science

kinda like making/ designing new weapon technology

what is this job called?

It sounds like you are interested in ballistics science, but designing nukes is a totally different field from designing rifles. If you are most interested in rockets, go for aeronautical engineering (aka "rocket science"). Mechanical engineering with additional courses in chemistry, physics, and ballistics would cover the small arms route. This is probably stating the obvious, but you should focus on military academies for your undergraduate studies since these will be the places that care the most about what you want to study.

Other than that, try and find somebody who is already working at a weapons manufacturer and ask them for mentoring. It might sound scary but the worst they can do is say no and this is a highly specialized field so you really need to get info from people on the inside.

Well, I believe that people who make weapons, even modern high-tech ones, are called "armorers."

Good luck!... ˜º

This list contains several hundred trillion dollars worth of products made, products in the making, planned products or products on the market today. All of these companies make items, materials, chemicals, parts or offer services in the end that will be used for one purpose to kill people. Rather than seeking a "title". Like everyone here who does not have a clue told you "engineer" - well that is too vague. People without a clue give you clueless answers.

Search these pages. Write or call these companies. Look them up on linked in, network with them - whatever. But when employed there know the companies final objective is to make money by blowing up 'things'. 99% of the time things owned by people the owner views as an enemy.

Yahoo would only let me include 8 links for some reason. So, I took the http://ww. out of a few.
