These days, most employers post jobs on the internet. Find jobs that interest you and for which you are qualified and then follow their directions to apply. Some will want you to apply online, others will want you to apply via email, and some will still want a hard application via snail mail.

All of the above. Tell everyone you know you are looking for work, develop a resume, if you have access to a local employment office, have them review it to see if it needs any tweaking. Check newspaper ads but don't respond to any that even slightly sound like scams. I check the websites for the larger employers in the area, sometimes they will have jobs listed there that aren't anywhere else. When you walk in to a place to ask for an application, be prepared to fill it out right there if you can. Be dressed nice, no sloppy jeans and t-shirts, depending on what they need they may want to interview you right away. Don't give up. In this economy it may take a while.

I have always had the most success using monster.com, always check your local paper classifieds, USAjobs is a great one, ask your local businesses, sometimes they don't advertise because it cost to much. Keep a printed resume in your car so you can hand it out like candy. Business owners talk to one another.
