What career best suits a single mother?

I am 29 with a 4 year old. Father not in picture, but does provide some financial assistance. I currently work full time. However, I have not be satisfied with my career for some time now. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas that would allow me the freedom to pick my son up after school (about 3:30ish). Also allowed me to make a good living. I have no problem with going back to school (currently working on my AA degree) just not sure what direction to go. I thought about maybe teaching, dentist or optometrist. Obviously I would prefer a faster means but any suggestions would be very much appreciated!

I think teaching would be the best, because not only does it offer having the holidays available the same time your child has off, but because it also secures your future. You would receive a pension when you retire. Provided that your son's father isn't really in the picture it might be very important to be there for your son. It might take more time to get the degree, but in the long run you would be gaining so much more. Good Luck! I hope it all works out for you. |
