You are correct in that most previous employers will not voluntarily divulge the reasons why you left the company. they will usually only supply date of hire, date of leaving and your job title.

One thing you won't be able to produce is a letter of reference. That should not be a fatal issue if you are really qualified for the job, and the prospective employer really needs your skills.

You should never mention that you were fired. never. Just say that you left for personal reasons, you may say things like stress and you needed a break, or that you took time off to look after your family, whatever sounds reasonable.

The job situation right now is VERY bad. So do not be discouraged if you seem to be totally unsuccessful in landing even an interview - remember that many thousands, even millions, are in the same boat, looking hard for work - and many of those probably have better qualifications and experience.

All you need is ONE good offer. Be positive and keep trying.

And, in my opinion, you made a major blunder using company e-mail to send personal stuff. Remember never to do that again; use your own free email accounts like Yahoo, or Hotmail, or Gmail.

Well, technically the previous employer can't say why they fired you but some will tell. I would be honest and say you were fired because you made a mistake. You learned from having a new baby but the situation has changed or something like that. You probably aren't entitled to anything because they were 'justified." I would look at food stamps and WIC. I would also look at volunteering to show you are still remaining active.

I was jobless for three months because I moved from one town to another without a job lined up. Businesses do hire part-time during certain times of the year. Usually March to April and September to November. However, it's best to apply as often as you can.
