If you want my honest opinion. I think it's none of their business. Why on Earth would Facebook give any indication of what kind of employee you'll make? It doesn't. If an application asked for my Facebook profile page, I wouldn't give it out. It's none of their business. I think it's an invasion of privacy. I, too don't have anything to hide. That's not the point. What people (friends) post on my wall is for me. It's like doing credit checks on potential employees. It's none of their business what your credit is and tells them absolutely nothing of the kind of employee you'll make. It's just gives them an assumption. It's just another way of weeding out what they consider the "bad" from the "good."

Facebook gives the employer an insight to the type of person you are and get to know a little bit about the prospective employee. My theory is... you should never put anything on facebook, myspace, twitter, etc... you don't want to whole world to know about you.. so be careful what you put on facebook and even choose your friends wisely, just because you know them, they don't have to be added to your friends list. Putting any social networking site on your Cv is dodgy... you may be fine and dandy... but what about the 40 or 50 dorks you call friend... and teh crap they post... guilty by association... do dont do it.
