There's a lot of potential reasons. 1) The economy is not so great - some people are cutting or cutting back on luxury services. 2) You are a new graduate in a field of people who have been working in the field for 10+ years or more, and have job references on their resume. As far as I can tell, you don't have anything on your resume in this field except your degree.

In a way, it's like this in very many fields. I personally got an accounting degree, and it took me a long, long time to be even given a shot at a job (and that was in better economic days too). How to make ends meet - you need to apply for essentially any job you can (I know - yes, even fast food jobs). You HAVE to get some money coming in, by whatever means possible.

Unfortunately, I have another not-so-great tidbit about the massage industry (I know some people in it). They tend to hire their friends, regardless of whether another applicant is better qualified. This happens in many industries as well - including accounting.
