I applied for a job at Target not knowing it was a seasonal job. During the interview I was told that it wasn't a seasonal job. So I was kinda happy that I'd be off unemployment. When I was invited to the orientation and had to sign a sheet to accept the job offer. Which is for 90 days long from July-October. Being shock I didn't sign the sheet and after the orientation I explain to the manager I can't take the job. She understood my situation and I was terminated. I didn't want to put myself in a situation to be back on unemployment again.

My question is:

If I disregard to tell the EDD that I refused work how will they find out?

If I tell do tell them that I refused work will they take my benefits away?

The truth is what I want to do. I just want to know if anyone been in this situation.

You should have taken the job for 90 days. If it worked out they would have kept you on longer but they dont like to commit to more than 90 days until they see if you work out. The EDD might find out if you re-open your application for UI again because Target now has your social security number. If they dont have it, you dont have to mention it.
