Uhh...I Forgot my interview time lol?

So. I was sleeping today, woke up to a call from a super target that I have an interview tomorrow at 8:50am. So I was like cool. I go back to sleep.

Little did I know I get another call from another job interview, Radio Shack. They told me the location and what time and date, which is on Friday...but I forgot what the time was. I know it was in the afternoon but I forgot exactly when.

How can I call them and ask them when it was again lol?

Like they didn't send me an email telling me when and stuff like a confirmation email...so IDK.

Like....

Me: Hello, this is <my name> just calling about that interview on Friday that I was scheduled for. I'm calling to confirm the time. Can you read me it back really quick?

Like...is that what I should say? I don't know if I should make up some bullshit excuse like my friend stole my dayplanner/my iphone got wiped.

It's easier than you think. No excuse or apology is necessary. Just call Radio Shack and very simply say, "Hello, I'm Gary_______. May I ask whom I'm speaking to? [Joe]. Joe, I have an interview with Radio Shack this week, and I would just like to confirm the date and time of the interview. Can you check them for me? Thank you, I appreciate it." This actually sounds good because it's conveying to them that you're interested in the job interview--no need to mention that you just plain forgot the time. It also comes across as a healthy double-check on your part that the interview is still on [after all, perhaps the radio shack guy forgot about it himself or had an unexpected change of plans].

While you're at it, ask Joe for the name of the person who you'll be doing the interview with--always sounds better when you know his name in advance, so you can go in and say, "I'm here to see Mr. Smith regarding a job. Then, "Hello, Mr. Smith, I'm glad to meet you."

Speak in a warm, friendly confident voice when you call Radio Shack about the time (It helps if you're standing up and smiling when you talk--makes you sound more friendly).

Good luck! Remember, DON'T apologize for forgetting--just say you want to CONFIRM the date and time.

Oh, and remember to follow up the interview with a 'thank you' email note the next day and/or a written, mailed note. Very Important.
