To the people who conduct job interviews: why do you want people to lie to you?

First of all English is not my first language so I apologise in advance if you will find any mistakes. I would like to ask to the people that conduct job interviews: why do you want your potential employee to lie to you? I have been to lots of interviews and I have come to the conclusion that you only give the job to the people who are more able to lie to you. Let me give you some examples: you want the employee to say that the customer is everything to him/her. Come on....do you think that people have in mind only the customers's happiness? Don't you think that we have more important and interesting things to think about? That doesn't mean that I am not kind with customers and that I don't want them to be happy. You don't give the job to a person that talk badly about his/her former employer. Why? If you ask him/her to tell the truth, why are you not able to accept the sincere reply? Do you think that your future employee will never talk bad about you? It's impossible to find somebody who doesn't have to tell something bad about his/her last employer. You give the job to the person that invented the most inexistent past jobs? Why?? What is the problem in having had only a couple of jobs in my life? Does that mean that I will be e bad person? You don't like the fact that a person has be unemployed for a long period. What is your problem with that? What if I have been Johnny Depp's lover and he has been paying me for sex (in my dreams)? What do you know about my life?

My point is: why do you ask questions if you only want lies as an answer? I have a job, so don't start insulting me telling me that is obvious that I don't have a job if I think it this way (this goes to the people that spend their day insulting other people on the internet). I am not trying to judge you people who conduct interviews, I just want to understand.

I am not able to tell lies at the interviews but I am always punctual, I am a hard worker and I am sure I am a good person.

Please, explain to me.

Thank you.

They only want to hear what they think is right .. So lie through your back teeth and get the job.

If you talk crap on your last employer, then of course your gonna talk bad about your current employer.

It's just a psychological interview when your asked those questions. It's usually a standard form, and has really very little to do with what you actually can or can't do.

Maybe try to say look I know you have to ask all those psych questions BUT, this is what you need to know about me...I'm always punctual, I'm a hard worker and I'm a good person.

Your English is fine.

First, they want you to say that the customer's happiness is foremost in your mind because your job is dealing with customers and doing the job well enough that people come back.

They don't want you to badmouth former employers because there are two sides to every story and they don't want to have you spread gossip or tell their business secrets, either. People who go around telling about their unhappiness are often people who look for reasons to be unhappy and will probably find reasons to be unhappy at their company, too.

As for gaps in employment history, employers want to know that you will do anything to get work to support yourself and can be creative about it. You don't let bad things knock you down. There are lots of online articles on how to handle this situation. Making up jobs is a very dangerous thing to do because the risk of getting caught is too high.

They don't care about your daydreams or the things you love or your aspirations. They do care about the quality of work, how you get along with co-workers, and how you treat customers. They want to have employees who will increase productivity and keep customers coming so they and everybody at the business can earn a living.

Being punctual and hard working are wonderful traits in an employee and in a friend or family member. You have the right to think this is part of being a good person.

We don't want people to lie, and we are normally sensible enough to be able to tell when someone is lying to try to make themselves look better.

Being long-term unemployed isn't a problem - it's showing a willingness to work that matters.

If someone speaks badly of a former employer then I would like to know why. If they have been badly or unfairly treated then they may be justified in speaking badly about them. But if they kept getting in trouble for being late or ringing in sick then they are not justified in speaking badly of their employer. Each case is different.

You seem to generalise a lot and to have quite a disrespectful attitude to others - assuming that everyone is the same. Most interviewers are fully aware that people will say what they think we want to hear, and quite often they are so obviously lying that they talk themselves out of the job rather than into it. Why do you assume that all employers are stupid, blind and gullible? Perhaps that is why you have a hard time at interviews. Attitude can speak louder than words.

You should never take these interviews personally because they have a set of papers at their disposal with questions to ask each interviewee and you will be amongst one of many. They then shortlist them into categories and choose the one with the most ticks.A computer is ideal for the Job of an Interviewer because this is what they do.
